Here’s where
I stand.
My position on broadband is straightforward. Providers should be clear about the deal, responsible for the service and willing to give people a choice.
Tell people
the whole price.
My preference is a price you can rely on throughout the term you choose. If a price is going to rise, the amount and timing should be obvious before anyone signs up.
Put it alongside the starting price. Make the overall cost understandable. People shouldn’t have to piece a deal together from the headline and the small print.
The argument on pricingDeliver what
you sell.
A provider should be as serious about delivering the service as it is about collecting the bill. When something’s wrong, investigate it and explain what happens next.
There are different causes of a poor connection. Knowing the difference should make support more useful, not give it more ways to shut a conversation down.
The argument on serviceLet the customer
choose the term.
I think people should have a choice of a 30-day, 12-month or 24-month agreement. Be clear about what each costs and what the customer is committing to.
Those options don’t have to be priced identically. They do have to be genuine options. Someone who values flexibility shouldn’t have to pretend otherwise.
